Minutes of the Extra Planning Meeting of Othery Parish Council Monday 31stMarch 2025 at 7:00 pm
1 – Apologies:
All present and the applicants were present for the meeting.
2 – Present:
Cllrs Tizzard: Jennings: Selway: Atherton: Wright: Cllr Betty attended the meeting as a resident having declared a prejudicial interest.
3 – Declarations of Interest:
These will always be declared at the agenda item when appropriate.
4 – Planning notice:
Planning application number: 38/25/00002/EAM: Proposal: Erection of 1No. self-build dwelling: Location: Land to the North of Yard Court, North Lane, Othery, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA7: The applicants addressed the meeting stating that they are planning to build their dream home and that they have had an agricultural business in the village for 20 years. Anthony Betty said that in his opinion it was in line with policies D19: T4: Co1: D25. Cllr Atherton has visited the site and can see no reasons why the application should not be supported. Each member was asked for their opinion and they all unanimously supported the application
5 – Urgent Matters at the discretion of the Chairman:
The chairman felt that a dedicated meeting for the new application to build 38 houses should have a special meeting and the date agreed was the 28th April at 7:30 pm. The agenda will state that anyone wishing to speak must register with the clerk and they will have 3 minutes to speak in line with the Somerset Planning protocol. The clerk will invite the developer
