1 – Apologies:

5 – Public question time and Neighbourhood Watch/Crime report and an update from Cllr Matthew Martin:
The clerk will forward the latest newsletter from the police.
One member of the community spoke to the Parish Council and thanked them for introducing the 20mph in the centre of the village which together has made the village much quieter and also that peoplefeel safer walking in the village. He felt that the footpaths were in a poor state and there was litteraround especially at the pull in just in Othery before seven bends. He would be happy to organise alitter pick and possibly close to the Othery Street Fayre so that the village looks tidy for visitors. TheClerk will ask what help there is available for Clean Surroundings in providing equipment.
6 – Matters Arising:
Village signs will be sanded down and varnished when CllrsTizzard and Atherton have the time, and the weather is suitable.
7 – Playing Field:
Update:All in order.
8 – Cemetery:
Cemetery wall damage: The clerk to see why his email has notreached Mark Weston but no reply from Towens.
9 – Highways:
As speed watch is suspended for 3 months because of the 20 mphintroduction Cllr Atherton will take on the responsibility of highways because of the resignationof Cllr V Jones.
10 – Community Speedwatch:
Suspended because of the new 20mph speed limit in the villagewhich is too close to the new speed restrictions
11 – Planning notice:
Extra planning meeting on 28th April already advertised as for Othery it is amajor application. So far no-one has registered to speak.
12 – Financial Matters:
Due to the sad death of our internal auditor Alec Brown MrPeter Walker has been appointed as internal auditor.Next charity Parkinsons.The clerk met some of the blood bikers outside Morrisons andthey were aware of the donation from Othery and thanked the Parish Council for their donation.

15 – Urgent Matters at the discretion of the Chairman:
The Clerk had emailed the news of the sadpassing of Alex Brown, who was our official auditor. When he lived in the village he had for manyyears been on the Parish Council and only when he and his wife Caroline downsized and moved toThurloxton and had to stand down from the Parish Council did he become the internal auditor. TheParish Council will donate to his funeral charity with the Clerk finding out the details and pass on thecondolences of the Parish Council to his wife.
The Parish Council will look to co-opt a new Councillor before the annual Parish Council meeting inMay. The Clerk is waiting now for applicants.
The Clerk will ensure that the minutes on the Website are up to date.
