1 – Apologies:

4 – Certifying the minutes of the meeting held on Monday 8th June 2026:
Agreed as a true record of the meeting.
5 – Public question time and Neighbourhood Watch/Crime report and an update from Cllr Matthew Martin:
No Updates
6 – Matters Arising:
Councillor vacancy update: Cllr Wright confirmed that Nigel Croucher had been approached and was willing to fill the vacancy Cllr Tizzard then phoned Mr Croucher to confirm his willingness to stand and having confirmed his willingness to stand Cllr Tizzrd invited him to the meeting. He attended and was co-opted with the Clerk providing the necessary paper work to be completed and once done Cllr Croucher took his place on the top table. Othery.org.uk mailbox: It was agreed that the mailboxes for all councillors would be circulated with the clerk telling the meeting that setting it up is very easy and he has been using the mailbox for the last month as a trial. Community Speedwatch equipment and access to the SIDS’s data: Cllr Graham has the equipment and instructions which Cllr Tizzard will collect and download the data for the September meeting. Other issues dealt with and communicated to the Parish Council members
7 – Playing Field:
Update: Cllr Selway had circulated the quotes and the meeting chose the local company as if there were any problems they would be easier to get in touch with to rectify any faults.
8 – Cemetery:
Update: Nothing to report.
9 – Highways:
Update: The footways are in a poor state throughout the village and that will be communicated to Somerset by the Clerk.
10 – Media report:
Update: Cllr Graham had indicated that there was nothing to report when tending his apologies for the meeting.

All agreed with the charities for the next two months being Altheimer’s and Parkinsons.

16 – Urgent Matters at the discretion of the Chairman:
It was noted that sadly there was a minor altercation between two men at the street Fayre in the early evening but with the police being present asking for information regarding an issue not related to the Street Fayre they were not needed. The new committee need to be aware that they have a responsibility to maintain order at the event at all times especially as alcohol is on sale.
