6 – Matters Arising:
Parking issues in Othery especially in the area of Mill Lane and KeensLane and the letters from residents circulated by Cllr Graham: This illegal parking is making it almostimpossible some times to pull out safely onto the main road. In the past the school zig zag lines couldhave been extended but that could have had an impact on the shop that was next to the school but thatalso has problems as to keep the school open children from outside a walking distance have to be gotto the school and parking close is really required. It was felt by the Parish Council that more visits atappropriate times by the PCSOs being school pick up and drop off and when local residents are homefrom work was required. The Parish Council would like to hear directly from the residents who havehad issues and ask Cllr Graham to tell them that it will be on the agenda for the January meeting butbefore then a request for visits from PCSOs at more suitable times should be undertaken. Email sentto Lora Bray and Jason Routley.
7 – Playing Field:
Update and a decision on the work required on the play surface: Thesecond quote that the clerk requested has not materialised which is disappointing. The Clerk hassent a second request for a quote from Helen Curnow. The Parish Council have ring fenced£5,000 for the play area and it will be an agenda item for the January meeting. Cllr Selway said thatshe had spoken to the original members of the playing field committee and can confirm that it nolonger exists.
8 – Cemetery:
Update: No quote as yet for the entrance to the new cemetery landso to the January meeting.
9 – Highways:
Update: The gullies have still not been cleared since theresurfacing of the main road which is causing localised flooding. This issue has been reportedseveral times but nothing has been done. Signs need attention on Pathe Road and up at thecemetery on the main road. Pathe bridge was damaged some time ago but no repairs have beenundertaken. All to be reported to County Highways. Report number 858692.
10 – Media report:
Update: One set of minutes to upload otherwise all OK.
11 – Community Speedwatch:
Update: Cllr Atherton has spoken to Paul Johnson about two newsite which could be productive but as yet the old Post Office site which could give an indicationas to how effective the 20mph is has not as yet been approved. Cllr Atherton will not be continuingin the role after next May as he is finding the process very frustrating and challenging with theabuse from motorists.
