4 – Certifying the minutes of the meeting held on Monday 14th July 2025 & 11th August 2025:

Agreed as a true record of the meetings.

5 – Public question time and Neighbourhood Watch/Crime report and an update from CllrMatthew Martin with Gerard Tucker giving an update on LCN matters and the idea of QuietLanes:

6 – Matters Arising:

Meeting dates for 2026: The members debated the issue and agreedthat the meeting arrangements in place for 10 meetings a year were appropriate for Othery.

7 – Playing Field:

Update: Cllrs Selway is finding it difficult to obtain another quoteso she hopes to have one for the next meeting. Cllr Betty agreed to removed the pallet believed tohave been left after the street fayre.

8 – Cemetery:

Need to review the charges in the Autumn to start in January 2026:Looking at the charges for locally it was decided to stay with the same charges for another 12months. Cllr Tizard and Betty will decide where the access point is to be created to gain access tothe cemetery extension and commission the work to be undertaken.

9 – Highways:

Update; Too many residents are parking too close to junctionswhich is an offence with Mill Lane being a problem. The clerk will pass this to the PCSO’s toattend and take action. It was requested that they take a look at the parking at the top garage whenthey are in the area.

10 – Media report:

Update: Vey quiet month so nothing to report other than theminutes need to be on the Website. The Clerk will get that updated.

11 – Community Speedwatch:

Update: Cllr Atherton gave his update to the extra planning(11/08/25) meeting when members of the public were present.

12 – Planning notice:

Planning application number: 38/25/00009/GNN: Proposal: Change of Useof Former Post Office to Residential: Location: THE OLD POST OFFICE, Fore Street, Othery,Bridgwater, Somerset, TA7 0QS: The property has been on the market for some time but no-onewants a mixed residential/commercial home hence the request to have the change. It isacknowledged that it will never be a post office or a shop so the change needs to be made. Theapplication was supported by the Parish Council.

Planning application number: 38/24/00010/LNE Proposal: Variation of Condition 25 onPlanning Permission 38/24/00001 (Outline planning permission with some matters reserved forerection of 5 self-build dwellings and 2 open market dwellings along with associated works.) toamend the wording of the condition: Location: Land (2) To The North Of, Load Pool, Othery,Bridgwater, Somerset, TA7: This should be self-build for residents first to support the village sothe variation was not supported by the Parish Council.

The problem with overgrown hedges needsto be addressed with Load Pool being the worst. If the name of owner and the address is given tothe clerk he will send out letters reminding the residents of their responsibility.

Charity for the month the Air Ambulance as they are trying to get another helicopter.

The clerk will contact Somerset Planning telling them that our response to 38/24/00012/CMN willbe after our next meeting.
